Mid-August was a busy and fulfilling period for me.
On 13–14 August 2025, I had the privilege of being invited to Jakarta, Indonesia, to lecture at two veterinary hospitals — MediVet and Pet+Vet.

I’ve always placed greater value on practical application rather than textbook-perfect theory. From this clinical perspective, I shared on pathophysiology and pharmacology, systemic hypertension, MMVD, DCM, feline cardiomyopathies, congestive heart failure, and thromboembolism. The veterinarians I met were passionate, engaged, and their thoughtful, high-quality questions left me truly inspired.

On Day 2 in Jakarta, we held a more intimate and casual session with the Pet+Vet team. Some veterinarians even traveled from other parts of Indonesia, including Bali — a gesture that was especially touching. What stood out most to me, however, was Pet+Vet’s approach to grief care. Their dedication to supporting pet owners through loss was a powerful reminder that our role as veterinarians extends far beyond medical treatment.

During this session, I also delivered a lecture on congestive heart failure, highlighting its pathophysiology, clinical signs, and treatment, with special focus on managing concurrent diseases such as hyperthyroidism and kidney disease. We capped it off with a hands-on echocardiography session, making the learning directly applicable to clinical practice.

After Jakarta, I continued on to Singapore to visit Canopy Veterinary Centre. There, I guided the team through echocardiography techniques and the key points to watch for when acquiring views. Dr. Denyse, Dr. Boon Han Teo, and their team impressed me with how quickly and naturally they picked it up.
